Amma Therapy is Korean bodywork based in Chinese Medicine and is a holistic therapy. It means "Push,Pull" which refers to the way Amma moves qi in the body and actually predates acupuncture. Amma demonstrates the value of rhythm, pacing, and precision in massage. The series of pressure techniques, which includes circular digital pressure, is performed along the body's fourteen major energy meridians. The aim is to restore and promote health by removing energy blockages. Amma also increases circulation, improves flexibility of joints and soft tissue, circulates and drains lymphatic fluid, and strengthens the immune system. Amma includes all of the same principles of Chinese Medicine such as tongue and pulse diagnosis, acu-points without needles, nutrition, herbs and movement.
